Dusty and Eric | White Birch Barn Medina, Ohio Wedding

Real Weddings

Dusty and Eric’s wedding at White Birch Barn in Medina, Ohio was nothing short of amazing! They had the most absolutely perfect fall day to celebrate the special love they share. I was so excited when Dusty reached out to me what seems like forever ago to talk about me being part of such a special day. Whats even better is this venue is so close to my home, so it was absolutely perfect!

I have loved getting to know these two and their story since the first time we met in my studio to talk about their wedding! These two have known each other since they went to Our Lady of Angel’s Catholic School IN KINDERGARTEN! While life took them in other directions after they graduated, I am so glad it brought them back together after all this time. I couldn’t possibly imagine two people more perfect for one another.

Throughout whole engagement session and their entire wedding day, it was clear to see how much these two love each other. Without being prompted they were constantly holding hands and sharing the sweetest kisses. Their pure joy for their entire day was contagious! I knew when we had their engagement session in Downtown Cleveland that these these two would have the most epic wedding photos ever! Check out their blog here to see exactly what I am talking about!

Crisp Fall Air and Romance

When I stepped out of the car at White Birch Barn I was so excited to feel the cool fall air blowing across the property. Looking out at the clouds floating above their ceremony site, I knew it was going to be the most perfect lighting for these two to exchange their vows! I unloaded my car and headed to the bridal suite to find Dusty and her bridesmaids laughing, dancing and enjoying the early afternoon. They were getting their final hair and makeup touches far ahead of schedule! It gave them plenty of time to relax before we had to get them dressed and ready for photos!

It was the sweetest moment photographing Dusty’s daughter zip her mom into her dress! You could tell by watching that getting to be part of her mom’s big day meant so much!

After Dusty was dressed and ready, we guided her to a spot on the patio where she and Eric held hands around a door, without seeing one another. They were able to talk about how excited they were and enjoy each other’s presence before they walked down the aisle to say “I do!”. It was perfectly intimate and they were glowing!

Once they were both ready, we whisked Dusty into hiding to Eric could return to his groomsmen. After we were sure the coast was clear, it was time for Dusty and her girls to take some bridesmaid photos. These girls were so full of laughter and excitement. At one point they were laughing so hard they were crying! These girls were seriously so fun!

We got the girls hidden back in the bridal suite before I headed over to join the guys at the groom’s cabin by the pond. When I showed up they were playfully tossing rocks trying to hit the faux duck anchored in the middle! It was hilarious to watch. Eric’s two young sons were so proud that the duck had been successfully hit twice!

With the ceremony time approaching, Eric got his two sweet boys in their vests and ties and we began their groomsmen photos. They looked so sharp in their tuxes! It was no surprise that these men were equally as full of laughs and jokes as the bridesmaids had been! Its not often that the guys enjoy taking photos, but somehow they definitely did!

Simple and Sweet

The music began and the groomsmen made their way down the aisle followed by the bridesmaids, and Eric’s sons as ring bearers. Their ceremony at the gazebo was perfectly short and simple as they exchanged rings and vows sealed with the sweetest kiss! The crowed cheered as they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Wicktora!

With the temperatures dropping we quickly moved through family formals and laughed some more as we took photos with their whole bridal party. I am so glad the girls had jean jackets on standby because they looked adorable in photos! Before long it was my favorite part of their whole day, their husband and wife portraits!

These two were seriously naturals when it came to posing. I had to do very little prompting to get laughs, gazes and kisses from them! We stopped by the vintage water truck on the property to start their photos and quickly moved to everyone’s favorite spot, the willow tree down by the pond. On most days the willow tree sits at the perfect spot for the glow of the setting sun to shine through the low hanging branches of the tree. On Dusty and Eric’s wedding day, this wasn’t quite the case.

The clouds had began rolling in creating a beautiful fall sky. There is something about cloudy days that make colors more vibrant and bold, and it sure did not disappoint! I love the way the leave and branches created an eye catching arch around these two. Their best photos, in my opinion though, were when they were brave enough to hop onto the dock and attempt their famous pick up and dip! It was everything and so much more!

Hearing the crowd roar as these two were announced into their reception was great! They had witty toasts and the sweetest first dance! I was so excited when they decided to have a sparkler send off and Eric picked Dusty up and carried her through the crowd on his back! They are the cutest ever and truly deserved this amazing day.
