A Sage and Floral Wedding in Tiffin Ohio | Kayla + David

Real Weddings

Kayla and David shared the most incredible sage and floral wedding in Tiffin Ohio this past weekend. It was full of love, laughter and their cute corgi puppy, Daisy. Everything from the elegant florals to the sage bridesmaids dresses and ornate invitations, truly pulled together their dream day.

They had originally chosen another venue but fate and booking conflicts lead them a different direction. They eventually settled on Pioneer Mill, where Kayla’s parents had gotten married more than 30 years earlier! We even got to recreate a photo in the very spot where they had taken a photo on their wedding day back then.

We arrived at Pioneer Mill to find the bridesmaids laughing and enjoying each others company, having just gotten to the venue from getting hair and makeup at a local salon. They were sipping their drinks out of the most adorable matching cups with each of their names on them. They guys were hanging by the bar with their custom koozies hand picked by David. Everything was well thought out and heart-felt.

After getting in her gorgeous gown, Kayla shared first looks with her bridesmaids and then her father. Watching her bridesmaids see her as a bride for the first time was priceless! Following that, she and David shared a first look with each other, and it was the sweetest. There may have been a few tears shed, not just by them. These two were truly so happy to be marrying each other and I love that about them.

It was time for their bride and groom portraits after their first look, which we got to include Daisy in! I am absolutely obsessed with the way they turned out. Kayla and David looked amazing but Daisy and all of her personality may have stolen the show. I am so glad that it was cloudy during their portraits, as it allowed us to use the gorgeous brick and white wall at the front of the building, that would have otherwise had them staring right into the harsh, bright sun. Hands down, my favorite spot there. The bridal party then joined Kayla and David for photos in front of the beautiful wall.

Before we knew it, it was time to hide them away while I captured ceremony and reception details. I swear that time flew by. Before I knew it, the planners from Your Perfect Day Planning were pouring the champagne in preparation for guests to share in a special ceremony toast. The music started and David and the officiant, Karen, started down the aisle, followed by the bridal party, the ring bearer, flower girl walking Daisy and Finally Kayla.

I love when couples write their own vows. I feel it adds something so personal to an already special moment. Kayla and David’s vows were just that. Hearing them declare how much they genuinely cared for one another was the best. After exchanging rings, they shared a special toast with all of their guests and sealed their marriage with a kiss. Whew!!!! Finally they are husband and wife!

Following their ceremony we captured so many special family photos. They were announced into their reception and the party finally began! Kayla and David had the best first dance I have ever seen. The dips were epic, the smiles were heart-warming and the love was real. When the formalities were over and the dance floor opened, you couldn’t get Kayla off the dance floor. She was the life of the party!

I am so sad their wedding day is over, because it was incredible from start to finish. But I know that each day these two are going to choose to love each other and be the best they can be for one another and I am so thankful our paths crossed. It was an honor to be such a special part of their big day. I wish Kayla and David a life full of love, happiness and making memories. You two deserve this!
