Dylan and Angela had planned the most beautiful wedding at a local barn venue in the area. Unfortunately the unexpected pandemic turned all of their plans upside down. The road bumps along their planning didn’t stop these two from having an absolutely incredible and intimate wedding day and backyard reception in Medina, Ohio!
It seems more often these days I am photographing the weddings of couples who met online. Thank goodness for Facebook because who truly knows if Dylan and Angela would have ever crossed paths otherwise! I am so glad that just three years after they met for the first time, they became husband and wife!
These two are absolutely perfect for each other. They are just the right mix to keep each other on their toes. Their wedding day was full of laughs and so many good times! They and their bridal party sure know how to have fun! From the getting ready location, to the party bus and all the way through the reception the dancing and the music never stopped!
I started the day arriving at the stunning house of a wonderful woman Angela had nannied for for years. She was truly wonderful to open her home to Angela and her bridesmaids the morning of the wedding. One of her bridesmaids (and new sister-in-law!) met me at the door to welcome me in! All of the girls were enjoying mimosas in their matching flannels. Right away I could tell it was going to be a perfect day! Angela was finishing her hair and heading to makeup when I started her detail photos.
I don’t know what it is about a wedding day, but time sure flew by! Before I knew it, it was time to put Angela in her dress and on the party bus to the church! I love capturing the moment a mom zips up her sweet daughter’s dress, sending her off to be married. It’s the pivotal moment on a wedding day when one truly feels like a bride.
It was not long at all after we arrived that the music began and both Dylan and Angela’s moms walked down the aisle to light the candles for the unity ceremony. The mom’s were quickly followed by the bridal party who bowed at the alter and immediately took their seats. Angela’s sweet nieces as flower girls signified the doors would soon open for her to make her grand appearance.
Their quiet ceremony was the perfect mix of both of them, filled with traditional vows and the occasional pun that stirred up a few good laughs. Dylan and Angela exchanged rings and vows sealed with a sweet kiss. After their first kiss, together they lit their unity candle and were pronounced husband and wife! Their smiles told it all as their friends and family applauded their walk back down the aisle!
Their guests lined the walk way as they exited the church to be well wished with bubbles and cheers! As guests exited we headed back in to take their family formal photos. Then, joined by their bridal party, they boarded the party bus to head to the same location we took their engagement photos at!
Photos at the family farm
We arrived at the quaint family farm of her maid of honor were we took their bridal party photos. This crowd was an absolute riot! There are so many photos of both sides of the party laughing! I sent the party back to the bus so we could get to my favorite part of their day, their husband and wife portraits!
We stopped at at a few of our favorite spots on the property sharing in sweet laughs and light kisses. Angela had the perfect veil for one of those romantic and flowy veil photos every girl dreams of! It couldn’t have been more perfect! We ended their portraits with the smoke bombs that Angela had ordered for their engagement session, but arrived too late. Secretly, I am glad they did because these photos are EPIC!
Once back on the bus, we all made our way to the home of another friend of Dylan and Angela’s who graciously opened her home to them when the pandemic caused a change in their original plan! Their white tented reception with lights everywhere couldn’t have been more perfect! You never would have guessed by the never ending dancing just outside the tent that they had a cool, fall air filled evening!
A Note To the Newlyweds
Dylan and Angela, you fought so incredibly hard for this wedding day. From start to finish, it was perfect in every way possible. I know this wasn’t the day you had originally planned, but I think it was even better! You withstood a lot of hardships to get to this point, and that has made your love stronger. May you never forget the love you both felt for one another as you danced for the first time as husband and wife! I know together you can conquer anything. I look forward to watching you grow as a couple, and the journey life will take you on.
